Milestone Benefits on Credit Cards, Explained
Updated 11 June 2026
Milestone benefits reward you for crossing set spend thresholds within a period — separate from, and on top of, your regular per-transaction reward rate.
How they're structured
A card might pay a bonus voucher or a chunk of points for every ₹1–2 lakh (figures vary a lot by card) spent within a quarter or a year, sometimes with multiple tiers that pay progressively larger bonuses as you cross higher thresholds.
The easy way to miss them
Milestone benefits are usually not automatic reminders — most cardholders never check how close they are to the next threshold, and a milestone reset (quarterly or annual) means unclaimed progress doesn't roll over. If a card's value proposition leans on milestones, it's worth actually tracking your running total, not assuming it'll sort itself out.
