Best Credit Cards for Zomato Orders in India

Zomato spending splits into two habits that don't always reward the same way: food delivery and eating out at partner restaurants through Zomato's dining program. A card that's great for one isn't automatically great for the other, so it's worth separating them before picking a card just because it "does Zomato."

Flat cashback as the practical default

The SBI Cashback Card earns 5% on all online spending, Zomato included, without needing a co-brand relationship or a merchant-specific offer to be live. It's the simplest way to earn a consistently good rate on delivery orders regardless of which app you happen to open that night, which matters if your ordering isn't loyal to Zomato over Swiggy. The cap on monthly cashback still applies, so heavy spenders should check where that ceiling sits relative to their actual food delivery spend.

Dining-category cards for eating out

Zomato dining-out spend — paying the restaurant bill directly rather than ordering delivery — is a different transaction category on most cards than food delivery is, and it's the category that dining-focused cards are actually built to reward. If restaurant visits (through Zomato's table booking or otherwise) make up a real share of your spend, our best dining credit cards in India roundup covers cards with accelerated rates specifically on restaurant transactions, which will usually beat a generic flat cashback card for this use case.

Zomato Gold and card cashback are separate systems

Zomato's Gold membership gets you dining discounts and delivery perks at partner outlets — it's a subscription benefit, not something your card grants. The two are independent and stack: Gold reduces what you owe at checkout, and your card's cashback rate (flat or category-based) then applies to that already-discounted amount. Don't expect a premium card to substitute for a Zomato Gold membership, and don't expect Gold membership to change which card earns you the best cashback.

Bank offers inside the Zomato app

Like most delivery platforms, Zomato runs periodic bank-specific promo codes — a flat discount or cashback for a particular issuer's cardholders, refreshed on a rotating basis. These are separate from your card's built-in cashback and stack on top of it. Check the offers section in the app before paying even if you're using a card with a solid base rate; a live bank promo plus your card's own cashback is usually a bigger combined saving than either alone, and this is exactly why the "best card for Zomato" question doesn't have a fixed answer year-round.

UPI checkout changes the offer set

Paying via UPI inside Zomato rather than card-present checkout opens up a separate set of promotions on some cards, since UPI-linked offers run independently of card-network offers. A RuPay credit card linked to UPI is the way to access these — see our how to stack maximum cashback with credit cards guide for the broader stacking logic, and mastercard credit cards on UPI payments if you're comparing network options for UPI-linked cards.

What not to bother with

Don't pick a card purely because it advertises "Zomato benefits" in marketing copy without checking whether that benefit is delivery, dining-out, or both — the categories aren't interchangeable on most reward structures. If your spend is genuinely mixed between delivery and dining out, a flat cashback card that treats both consistently is usually the less complicated choice over trying to optimize two categories with one card.
