Axis Bank built out one of the strongest travel-card lineups in India after its Vistara co-brand cards were discontinued, and Atlas is now the clear flagship. Here's what the travel-focused range actually offers and who each card fits.

Axis Atlas — the flagship travel-miles card

Atlas earns 5% accelerated EDGE Miles on flight and hotel bookings made through the Travel EDGE portal, plus a base 2% elsewhere. Miles transfer to 20+ airline and hotel loyalty partners with no transfer fee, which is the feature that separates it from cards that only let you redeem for flat statement credit. Lounge access starts at 8 domestic and 4 international visits a year at the Silver tier and scales up as your annual spend crosses higher tiers, alongside a 30,000-mile milestone bonus at ₹3,00,000 of annual spend.

At a flat ₹5,000 fee with no spend-based waiver, Atlas is priced for people who will fly enough to make the lounge visits and mile transfers worthwhile — casual travelers may find the fee harder to justify against a cheaper card.

Who Atlas suits best

  • Frequent flyers who book through a mix of airlines and want flexible mile transfers rather than being locked to one carrier
  • Travelers who'll actually redeem miles for flights/hotels, since the accelerated 5% rate is specifically tied to the Travel EDGE portal
  • Anyone who already crosses ₹3,00,000+ in annual spend and can capture the milestone bonus

If you fly rarely, the ₹5,000 annual fee with no waiver option is dead weight — a lower-fee Axis card or a shopping/cashback card will serve you better. Our best travel credit cards with lounge access roundup covers how Atlas stacks up against travel cards from other issuers.

Forex markup is the one weak spot

Atlas's 3.5% forex markup is on the higher side for a travel card — several competitors sit at 1.5–2%. If you spend heavily abroad rather than just earning miles on domestic travel bookings, factor that into the total cost before committing.
