Best Credit Cards for Golf in India 2026: Free Rounds Compared
17 September 2026 · BestCard Editorial Team

The best credit cards for golf in India are HDFC Infinia and ICICI Emeralde Private Metal for unlimited rounds, HDFC Diners Club Black for a generous quarterly allowance, and IDFC FIRST Ashva or Standard Chartered Ultimate if you want monthly golf without a super-premium fee. Most golf benefits waive green fees at partner courses, and many now depend on hitting a monthly spend target. Here's how seven cards compare.
How credit card golf benefits work
Card golf programmes give you complimentary green fees, lessons, or both at partner courses, usually booked through the card's concierge or a golf partner. The benefit is capped by count (per month, quarter or year) and sometimes tied to how much you spent recently. Our explainer on credit card golf privileges covers booking and fine print in detail.
Three things decide how useful a golf card is:
- The number of rounds and whether it resets monthly, quarterly or yearly.
- Spend triggers, such as ₹20,000 or ₹50,000 in the previous month.
- Course coverage. A benefit at courses you'll never play is worth nothing.
The shortlist
HDFC Infinia (Metal Edition)
HDFC Infinia offers unlimited complimentary golf games and lessons at leading courses in India and select courses abroad, with green fees fully waived at participating venues. The fee is ₹12,500, waived on ₹10 lakh of annual spend, and the welcome 12,500 reward points effectively refund it. It also has unlimited domestic and international lounge access and a 3.33% base reward rate. The barrier is eligibility: ₹5 lakh a month in income, and approval is largely by invitation. See our Infinia review.
ICICI Emeralde Private Metal
ICICI Emeralde Private Metal lists unlimited complimentary golf rounds every month. The fee is ₹12,499, waived on ₹10 lakh, with a 3% base rate at ₹1 per point and a 1.5% forex markup. Lounge access is unlimited for primary and add-on cardholders. It's invite-only, and the income bar is ₹2.5 lakh a month.
HDFC Diners Club Black (Metal Edition)
HDFC Diners Club Black gives 6 complimentary golf games or lessons every calendar quarter at courses in India and abroad, resetting each quarter regardless of prior use. That's up to 24 a year for a ₹10,000 fee, waived on ₹8 lakh. It shares Infinia's 3.33% base rate and adds 10,000 bonus points in any quarter where you spend ₹4 lakh. Minimum income is ₹2.5 lakh a month. Read the Diners Club Black review for more.

IndusInd Pinnacle
IndusInd Pinnacle offers 1 complimentary golf game and 1 lesson a month, plus Hole-in-One insurance of ₹20,000. There's a one-time ₹15,000 joining fee and no annual fee after that, which makes it cheap to hold long term. It earns 2% base and 5% on online shopping at 25 paise a point, with unlimited domestic lounge access for the primary cardholder. Minimum income is ₹75,000 a month.
Standard Chartered Ultimate
Standard Chartered Ultimate gives 1 complimentary golf game and 1 coaching session a month at select domestic courses. The fee is ₹5,000 with no published waiver, offset by 6,000 reward points (₹6,000 value) on fee payment. Base rewards are 3.33%, forex markup is 2%, and you get 4 domestic lounge visits a quarter. Minimum income is ₹1.5 lakh a month. Our Ultimate review has the details.
ICICI Sapphiro
ICICI Sapphiro offers up to 4 complimentary golf rounds or lessons a month at select courses, but only when you spend ₹50,000 that month. The joining fee is ₹6,500 and the annual fee ₹3,500, waived on ₹6 lakh. It's weaker on rewards (0.5% base) but the golf allowance is high for its price if you hit the trigger. Minimum income is ₹75,000. See our Sapphiro review.
IDFC FIRST Ashva
IDFC FIRST Ashva gives 2 complimentary golf rounds or lessons a month on ₹20,000 or more of monthly spend. The annual fee is ₹2,999 with no waiver, and it brings 0% forex markup plus 4 domestic and 2 international lounge visits a quarter. Minimum income is ₹1 lakh. It's the lowest-cost way in our shortlist to get regular monthly golf.

How to choose
If you play every weekend: you need unlimited or near-unlimited access. Infinia or Emeralde Private Metal, if you qualify. Diners Club Black's 6 per quarter works out to about 2 a month.
If you play once or twice a month: IndusInd Pinnacle, SC Ultimate or IDFC FIRST Ashva cover you. Pinnacle has no recurring fee. Ashva is cheapest, but only if you spend ₹20,000 that month.
If you already spend ₹50,000 a month on one card: ICICI Sapphiro's 4 rounds a month is a big allowance for a ₹3,500 fee.
Before applying, call the golf partner or concierge and ask which courses near you participate. A card with 4 free rounds a month at courses 80 km away is worth less than one round a month at your home club.
Common mistakes
- Missing the spend trigger. With Sapphiro and Ashva, a light month means no free golf next time.
- Assuming all costs are covered. Green fees are usually waived, but caddie fees and equipment hire often aren't.
- Picking a card only for golf. At ₹10,000+ fees, make sure lounge access and rewards also earn their keep.
