YES Private Credit Card Review 2026: Invite-Only, Worth It?
6 October 2026 · BestCard Editorial Team

The YES Private credit card is YES Bank's invite-only card for its private banking clients. It isn't built to earn rewards (the base rate is just 0.5%). It is built for wealthy international travellers: a 0.5% forex markup, unlimited domestic and international lounge access with 12 guest visits a year, golf, ₹5 crore of air accident cover and a 24x7 concierge. If you hold a large relationship with YES Bank and travel abroad often, it's excellent. If you want rewards, look elsewhere.
Who this card is for
YES Private is for:
- Existing YES Bank private banking clients with a relationship value of around ₹5 crore (per BestCard's data)
- Frequent international travellers who spend heavily in foreign currency
- People who travel with family or guests and use lounges together
- Golfers who'd use complimentary rounds and lessons
It's not for anyone who chooses a card based on reward rate, or who isn't already a significant YES Bank client.
Fees and waiver
| Item | Detail |
|---|---|
| Joining fee | ₹50,000 |
| Annual fee | ₹10,000 |
| Fee waiver spend | ₹25,00,000 a year |
| Forex markup | 0.5% |
| Network | Visa |
The ₹50,000 joining fee is steep, and with 18% GST it comes to ₹59,000. The ₹10,000 renewal fee (₹11,800 with GST) is waived at ₹25 lakh of annual spend, about ₹2.08 lakh a month. These figures reflect BestCard's latest card data; YES Bank may offer relationship-based fee terms, so confirm with your relationship manager.
Reward structure
| Category | Reward rate |
|---|---|
| Travel | 0.75% |
| Everything else | 0.5% |
Rewards come as points worth 25 paise each, and the rates above are the effective rupee return.
Worked example: ₹3 lakh a month
Split: ₹1 lakh on travel, ₹2 lakh on other spends.
- Travel: 0.75% of ₹1,00,000 = ₹750
- Other: 0.5% of ₹2,00,000 = ₹1,000
- Total: ₹1,750 a month, or ₹21,000 a year
Annual spend is ₹36 lakh, so the renewal fee is waived. Still, ₹21,000 on ₹36 lakh of spend is a weak return for this tier. Several super-premium cards return several times that.
Where the real value is: forex
Say you spend ₹5 lakh abroad in a year.
- YES Private: 0.5% markup = ₹2,500, plus 18% GST = ₹450. Total: ₹2,950
- Typical card at 3.5%: ₹17,500, plus GST ₹3,150. Total: ₹20,650
That's a saving of ₹17,700 a year, which is close to what the card returns in points at ₹3 lakh a month. For heavy foreign spenders, forex savings can be worth more than rewards. Our forex markup guide explains how markup and GST are calculated.

Lounge, travel and lifestyle benefits
- Domestic lounges: unlimited complimentary access, plus 12 complimentary guest visits a year
- International lounges: unlimited complimentary access, plus 12 complimentary guest visits a year
- Concierge: 24x7, including VIP airport meet-and-greet
- Golf: 12 complimentary rounds a year (max 3 a quarter) and 12 complimentary lessons a year (max 3 a quarter)
- Hotels: hotel privilege tie-ups (check current partners with YES Bank)
- Insurance: air travel accidental death cover up to ₹5 crore; credit shield cover up to ₹15 lakh on accidental death of the primary cardholder
Guest visits are where this card stands out. Many premium cards give unlimited access to the cardholder only, and charge for guests. Twelve free guest visits a year is useful for couples and families. For background, see Priority Pass vs bank lounge access.

Eligibility
There's no published income threshold in BestCard's data. Eligibility is by invitation and based on your total relationship value with YES Bank rather than salary alone. If you're a high-net-worth client, ask your relationship manager. Our explainer on invite-only credit cards covers how these invitations typically work.
How it compares
Axis Bank Burgundy Private: also tied to private banking, with BestCard's data listing no joining or annual fee, 0% forex markup, a 6% base reward rate (points at 20 paise), unlimited worldwide lounge access with 12 guest visits, and up to 50 golf rounds a year. The listed income requirement is ₹10 lakh a month. On paper it beats YES Private on rewards, forex and fees, if you qualify. See the Burgundy Private card page.
HDFC Infinia: ₹12,500 fee (waived at ₹10 lakh), 3.33% base reward rate with points worth up to ₹1 each, 2% forex markup, unlimited domestic and international lounge access for primary and add-on cardholders, and unlimited golf. Much better for earning rewards; YES Private wins on forex and guest visits.
ICICI Emeralde Private Metal: ₹12,499 fee (waived at ₹10 lakh), 3% base reward rate, 1.5% forex markup, unlimited lounge access for primary and add-on cardholders, unlimited golf and a ₹3 crore air accident cover. A stronger all-round card for most high earners.

Verdict
YES Private is a niche card that does a few things very well: near-zero forex markup, unlimited lounges with generous guest visits, golf and serious insurance. Its reward rate is poor for the tier, and the ₹50,000 joining fee is hard to justify unless the forex savings and guest access matter to you. If you're already a large YES Bank client who travels abroad often, accept the invitation. If you have a choice of private banking cards, HDFC Infinia, ICICI Emeralde Private Metal or Axis Burgundy Private will usually return more.

0.5%, one of the lowest of any card in India. On ₹5 lakh of foreign spend that's ₹2,500 in markup, against ₹17,500 at a typical 3.5% rate.
