Kotak IndiGo Premium Credit Card Review 2026: BluChips Worth It?
8 October 2026 · BestCard Editorial Team

The Kotak IndiGo Premium card is worth its ₹3,000 fee only if you fly IndiGo several times a year and are happy to keep your rewards locked inside IndiGo. Its 21 BluChips per ₹100 on IndiGo bookings is one of the highest airline-specific earn rates in India, and the welcome and renewal vouchers do much of the work of offsetting the fee. For anyone else, a bank points card or a zero-forex travel card will give more flexible value.
Who it's for
Kotak and IndiGo's premium co-brand (the successor to the earlier 6E Rewards XL line) targets one person: the regular IndiGo flyer. That might be a consultant flying Delhi–Bengaluru twice a month, or a family that books every holiday on IndiGo. Because BluChips only work inside IndiGo, the card's value depends entirely on how often you'll redeem there. A useful test: count the IndiGo tickets you bought in the last 12 months. If it is fewer than four or five, the card will probably earn less than it costs.
Fees
| Item | Kotak IndiGo Premium |
|---|---|
| Joining fee | ₹3,000 + GST |
| Annual fee | ₹3,000 + GST |
| Fee waiver | None |
| Welcome benefit | 4,000 BluChips voucher + 6E Eats voucher |
| Renewal benefit | 4,000 BluChips voucher + 6E Eats voucher each year |
| Network | Visa |
There is no spend-based waiver, so with 18% GST you pay about ₹3,540 every year regardless of how much you use the card. The renewal voucher is the offset. Kotak has not listed a forex markup or minimum income in BestCard's data, so check those with the bank before applying.
Reward structure
The card earns IndiGo BluChips:
- Up to 21 BluChips per ₹100 on IndiGo flight bookings
- 3 per ₹100 on dining
- 2 per ₹100 on other eligible spends
- Up to 16,000 BluChips a year in milestone vouchers across spend tiers
Because BluChips are an airline currency, BestCard doesn't assign them a fixed rupee value. What a BluChip is worth depends on the fare you redeem against, so compare the cash fare and the BluChips needed for flights you actually take.
Worked example: ₹30,000 a month
Say you spend ₹30,000 a month: ₹4,000 on IndiGo tickets, ₹3,000 on dining and ₹23,000 on everything else.
- IndiGo: ₹4,000 × 21/100 = 840 BluChips
- Dining: ₹3,000 × 3/100 = 90 BluChips
- Other: ₹23,000 × 2/100 = 460 BluChips
- Monthly total: 1,390 BluChips, so 16,680 a year
- Renewal voucher: 4,000 BluChips
That is about 20,680 BluChips a year before any milestone vouchers you unlock. Put another way, the IndiGo slice is only 13% of spend but produces 60% of the monthly BluChips.
Worked example: ₹15,000 a month, no IndiGo flights in most months
- Dining ₹2,000 × 3/100 = 60, other ₹13,000 × 2/100 = 260
- 320 BluChips a month, 3,840 a year, plus the 4,000 renewal voucher
Without regular IndiGo bookings, the card earns little more than its renewal voucher, and you are paying ₹3,540 a year for it. The renewal voucher only helps if you actually redeem it on an IndiGo fare before it expires, so check the voucher validity when it arrives.

Lounge and other benefits
- Domestic lounges: 2 complimentary visits per calendar quarter, 8 a year. BestCard's data doesn't list a spend gate, but check Kotak's current terms. Our domestic lounge access guide compares this with other cards.
- International lounges: none listed.
- 6E Eats vouchers: on joining and renewal, useful for in-flight meals.
Pros and cons

Eligibility
Kotak doesn't publish a fixed income figure for this card in BestCard's data. Expect standard checks: a CIBIL score in the mid-700s or above, stable income and a manageable debt load. If you bank with Kotak, approval tends to be quicker. See our Kotak credit cards guide for the wider lineup.
How it compares
IndiGo Axis Bank Premium: ₹5,000 fee with no waiver, a 7% rate on IndiGo bookings, 2% forex markup, 2 domestic visits per quarter (on ₹50,000 prior-quarter spend) and 2 international visits a year via Priority Pass. It suits IndiGo flyers who also travel abroad. Apply for the IndiGo Axis Premium card or read our review.
IndiGo SBI Card ELITE: ₹4,999, 7% on IndiGo bookings and up to 8 domestic lounge visits a year with a spend condition, but a 3.5% forex markup. If you already hold SBI cards, apply for the IndiGo SBI Card ELITE here. Our SBI IndiGo vs Axis IndiGo comparison breaks down the two.
Kotak Air+: the same ₹3,000 fixed fee, but miles aren't tied to IndiGo, the forex markup is 2%, and you get 4 domestic plus 2 international lounge visits a year. If you fly several airlines, Air+ is the more flexible Kotak card; see our Air+ review.

Verdict
The Kotak IndiGo Premium is a strong card for a narrow audience. If you spend ₹4,000 or more a month on IndiGo tickets and redeem BluChips on IndiGo flights, the earn rate and renewal voucher make the ₹3,000 fee easy to justify. If IndiGo is just one of several airlines you use, or you fly a few times a year, the fixed fee and locked-in currency make it hard to recommend over Kotak Air+ or a general travel card.
