The best credit card for MakeMyTrip bookings in 2026 is the MakeMyTrip ICICI Bank Credit Card for most regular users: it pays 6% on MakeMyTrip hotels and 3% on flights with no cap, charges a 0.99% forex markup, and costs ₹999 a year. If you book on MakeMyTrip only occasionally, a general online cashback card like SBI Cashback gives you rewards you can spend anywhere.

How MakeMyTrip rewards work on co-brand cards

ICICI issues MakeMyTrip's co-brand cards. They pay rewards as myCash, MakeMyTrip's wallet currency, where 1 myCash = ₹1. That's simple to value, but it only works on MakeMyTrip. You can't take it as statement credit or move it to your bank.

So before picking a co-brand, ask yourself one question: will you book enough on MakeMyTrip to use the myCash? If yes, the co-brand beats most general cards. If not, the rewards sit unused.

The shortlist

Card Fees (joining/annual) MakeMyTrip rate Other spends Forex Lounge
MakeMyTrip ICICI Bank Credit Card ₹999 / ₹999 (waived on ₹3L) 6% hotels, 3% flights and more 1% 0.99% 2 domestic/quarter on ₹75,000 prior-quarter spend; 1 international/year
MakeMyTrip ICICI Signature ₹2,500 / ₹0 6% (₹1,500 cap/month) 2% 3.5% 2 domestic/quarter (spend-gated); 1 international/year
ICICI MakeMyTrip Platinum ₹500 / ₹0 1.5% 0.5% 3.5% Quarterly domestic on ₹75,000 quarterly spend
SBI Cashback ₹999 / ₹999 (waived on ₹2L) 5% online (₹2,000 cap/month) 1% 3.5% None

MakeMyTrip ICICI Bank Credit Card: best overall

The MakeMyTrip ICICI Bank Credit Card is ICICI's current MakeMyTrip co-brand, issued as a Mastercard and RuPay pair. BestCard's data shows:

  • 6% myCash on MakeMyTrip hotel bookings
  • 3% on MakeMyTrip flights, holidays, buses and cabs
  • 25 myCash per MakeMyTrip train booking
  • 1% on everything else (insurance capped at 1,000 myCash a year; rent and EMI excluded)
  • No cap on the MakeMyTrip rates

It also comes with a ₹1,000 MakeMyTrip voucher when you pay the joining fee, a ₹1,000 hotel voucher on renewal, a year of MMTBLACK Gold membership, and 3-month no-cost EMI on MakeMyTrip bookings. The 0.99% forex markup is unusually low for a sub-₹1,000 card.

Worked example. In a year you book ₹60,000 of hotels and ₹80,000 of flights on MakeMyTrip, and put ₹1,20,000 of other spending on the card.

  • Hotels: ₹60,000 × 6% = ₹3,600
  • Flights: ₹80,000 × 3% = ₹2,400
  • Other: ₹1,20,000 × 1% = ₹1,200
  • Total: ₹7,200 in myCash

Against a ₹999 fee (₹1,179 with GST), plus a ₹1,000 voucher back each year, that's a strong return. Total spend is ₹2.6 lakh, just short of the ₹3 lakh waiver.

MakeMyTrip ICICI Signature: no annual fee, capped

The MakeMyTrip ICICI Signature charges a one-time ₹2,500 joining fee and no annual fee after that. Our data shows 6% back on travel capped at ₹1,500 a month and a 2% base rate, with ₹1,500 myCash and a ₹2,500 holiday voucher on joining plus MMTBLACK Platinum membership. It lists 2 domestic lounge visits a quarter subject to a quarterly spend condition, and 1 international visit a year; confirm the current lounge threshold with ICICI.

The ₹1,500 monthly cap on the 6% rate means it tops out at ₹25,000 of travel a month, which is more than most people book. The 3.5% forex markup makes it a poor choice abroad.

ICICI MakeMyTrip Platinum: the low-cost option

The ICICI MakeMyTrip Platinum has a ₹500 one-time joining fee and no annual fee. Rewards are modest (1.5% on travel, 0.5% elsewhere), but it adds a holiday voucher worth up to ₹3,000 and ₹500 myCash on joining, plus ₹1,000 myCash milestones at ₹2.5 lakh annual card spend and again at ₹50,000 of MakeMyTrip spend. Our MakeMyTrip Platinum review covers it in detail.

SBI Cashback: best if you don't want to be locked in

The SBI Cashback Card pays 5% cashback on online spends up to ₹2,000 a month, credited to your statement. MakeMyTrip bookings are online spends, so they typically earn the 5% rate, but SBI excludes some merchant categories, so check the current exclusion list before you rely on it for travel.

Worked example. A ₹40,000 holiday package booked on MakeMyTrip in one month: ₹40,000 × 5% = ₹2,000, which hits the monthly cap exactly. On the MakeMyTrip ICICI card the same booking at 3% gives ₹1,200 in myCash. SBI wins on a single large booking, and you can spend the cashback on anything. Over a year with many smaller hotel bookings, the co-brand's uncapped 6% on hotels pulls ahead.

What about other travel portals?

If you're not tied to MakeMyTrip, other OTA co-brands are worth a look. The Standard Chartered EaseMyTrip Credit Card offers 10% in its travel category plus discounts on EaseMyTrip bookings for a ₹350 fee. The Federal Bank Scapia and AU ixigo cards are lifetime free with zero forex markup, built around their own apps. For broader travel rewards that aren't tied to one platform, see our guide to the best cards for flight bookings.

How to choose

  1. Count your MakeMyTrip bookings. Three or more hotel stays a year makes the co-brand worthwhile. One trip a year doesn't.
  2. Check the hotel/flight split. The MakeMyTrip ICICI card pays double on hotels, so hotel-heavy travellers gain most.
  3. Think about trips abroad. The 0.99% markup on the MakeMyTrip ICICI card is far better than 3.5% on the older variants.
  4. Value flexibility. myCash only works on MakeMyTrip. Cashback works everywhere.
  5. Pair cards. Many people hold a MakeMyTrip card for travel and a cashback card for everything else.

The bottom line

For regular MakeMyTrip users, the MakeMyTrip ICICI Bank Credit Card is the clear pick: uncapped 6% on hotels, 3% on flights and a low forex markup. If your bookings are occasional, SBI Cashback gives similar value on big bookings without locking you in. All fees and rates above are from BestCard's latest card data, and issuers change terms often, so verify on the issuer's site before applying. Frequently asked questions

Which credit card is best for MakeMyTrip?

For regular MakeMyTrip users, the MakeMyTrip ICICI Bank Credit Card is the strongest pick: 6% myCash on MakeMyTrip hotels, 3% on flights, holidays, buses and cabs, no cap, and a 0.99% forex markup for ₹999 a year.

Can I use MakeMyTrip myCash for any booking?

myCash earned on the MakeMyTrip ICICI card can pay for up to 100% of MakeMyTrip flights, hotels, holidays, trains, buses, cabs and visas. It can't be converted to cash or moved to a bank account.

Does myCash expire?

On the MakeMyTrip ICICI Bank Credit Card, BestCard's data shows myCash earned through the card never expires. Promotional myCash and vouchers usually have their own validity, so check those separately.

Is a cashback card better than a MakeMyTrip card?

If you book on MakeMyTrip only once or twice a year, a general online cashback card is usually better because the cashback can be used anywhere. The co-brand wins if you book hotels and flights on MakeMyTrip several times a year.
