HDFC BizPower Credit Card Review: The Middle Tier for Growing Businesses
8 June 2026 · BestCard Editorial Team

The HDFC Bank BizPower Credit Card occupies the gap between HDFC's entry-level business cards and its flagship BizBlack Metal — a step-up option for business owners who've outgrown BizGrow's everyday-focused rewards but don't need (or want to pay for) BizBlack's unlimited top-tier perks. It's a deliberately middle-of-the-road card, and that positioning is really its whole pitch.
Fees and eligibility at a glance
BizPower carries a ₹2,500 joining fee and ₹2,500 annual fee, waived on crossing ₹3,00,000 in spend for the year — a ₹25,000-a-month average, a realistic bar for an active small or mid-sized business. Forex markup sits at 2.5%, reasonable for a card aimed primarily at domestic business spend rather than frequent international travel. As a business card, eligibility runs through HDFC's business banking relationship rather than standard salaried-income criteria.
Rewards and how they actually work
The card earns 2X reward points on general business spend and accelerates to 3X on travel-category spend — a straightforward two-tier structure without the complexity of rotating categories. Redemption via HDFC's SmartBuy platform or as statement credit is free; only catalogue and voucher redemptions carry a nominal fee, which mirrors the redemption structure on most other HDFC cards. At a 2% base value, this isn't a category-leading rewards rate, but it's dependable and doesn't require active management to extract value.
Lounge access and travel perks
BizPower includes complimentary domestic airport lounge access, but with a caveat worth flagging clearly: it's unlocked only after meeting a minimum quarterly business spend threshold on the card, not granted automatically. That's a meaningfully different structure from cards that offer a flat number of visits regardless of spend, and it means occasional business travelers may find the lounge benefit effectively inactive most quarters. There's no international lounge access on this card. Business travel insurance is included, covering the cardholder against travel-related risks on work trips, and a 1% fuel surcharge waiver applies on transactions between ₹400 and ₹1,00,000, capped at ₹250 per statement cycle.
What's genuinely good about this card
The lounge access, even though it's spend-gated, comes at a meaningfully lower overall fee than stepping up to BizBlack Metal — for a business that clears the quarterly threshold naturally, it's effectively free lounge access layered on top of an already-reasonable annual cost. The 3X rate on travel spend is a real plus for business owners who travel for client meetings or conferences, since travel spend often represents a disproportionate share of business card usage. The 2X rate on general spend keeps everyday earning solid without HDFC needing to rely on a narrow, easily-missed bonus category. Business travel insurance is a genuine addition — it replaces what would otherwise be a separate policy purchase for work travel. And positioned as it is, BizPower gives growing businesses a credible mid-point rather than forcing a binary choice between an entry card and a top-tier metal one.
Where it falls short
The lounge access being tied to a quarterly spend threshold rather than granted outright is the card's biggest limitation — a business with lumpy or seasonal spend could easily miss the benefit in slower quarters despite paying the same annual fee. There's no international lounge access at all, which limits the card's usefulness for businesses with any meaningful overseas travel component. The 2% base reward rate is average rather than exceptional, so businesses whose spend doesn't skew toward the accelerated travel category won't see standout earning. And because it's a business card tied to an HDFC business banking relationship, it's simply not accessible to someone without that underlying setup.
Who this card actually makes sense for
BizPower fits a small or mid-sized business owner who spends consistently enough to clear ₹3 lakh a year (and, ideally, enough each quarter to keep triggering lounge access), travels domestically for work often enough to value the 3X rate, and doesn't need BizBlack's unlimited-tier perks or want to pay for them. If your business spend is lower or highly seasonal, the lounge gating will likely undercut the value you actually see from the card.
