Best Credit Cards for iPhone Purchase in India (2026)
13 October 2026 · BestCard Editorial Team

The best credit card for an iPhone depends on where you buy it. On Amazon, ICICI Amazon Pay returns 5% with Prime. On Flipkart, Flipkart Axis returns an uncapped 5%. At Croma through Tata Neu, the Tata Neu Infinity cards return up to 5% in NeuCoins. On an ₹80,000 phone, that's roughly ₹4,000 back, before any bank discount on top.
Why the store matters more than the card
An iPhone is a single large purchase, which changes how you should pick a card:
- Monthly caps bite hard. A card that pays 5% capped at ₹1,000 a month gives you ₹1,000 on an ₹80,000 phone, not ₹4,000.
- Co-brand cards win at their own store. Amazon, Flipkart and Tata cards pay their best rate, often uncapped, on their home platform.
- Bank offers change the maths. iPhone launches and big sales usually come with instant discounts on specific bank cards. Those discounts often stack with card rewards, but not always.
So pick your store first, check the bank offers there, and then use the card that pays best at that store.
The shortlist
1. ICICI Amazon Pay: best for buying on Amazon
- Fee: Lifetime free
- Rate: 5% on Amazon with Prime, 3% without; 1% elsewhere
- Cap: None listed in BestCard's data
- Reward form: Amazon Pay balance
- Forex markup: 1.99%
On an ₹80,000 iPhone with Prime, that's ₹4,000 in Amazon Pay balance. Without Prime, it's ₹2,400. Being free, it's a no-brainer second card if you shop on Amazon. View the card or see our Amazon shopping card guide.
2. Flipkart Axis Bank Card: best for buying on Flipkart
- Fee: No joining fee, ₹500 annual, waived on ₹3,50,000 annual spend
- Rate: 5% on Flipkart and Myntra, 4% on partners, 1.5% elsewhere
- Cap: None listed
- Reward form: Cashback to your statement
The uncapped 5% is the key here: ₹4,000 back on an ₹80,000 phone, credited as statement cashback rather than store credit. An iPhone purchase also takes you a good way toward the ₹3.5 lakh fee waiver. Apply for Flipkart Axis.
3. Tata Neu Infinity (HDFC or SBI): best for Croma
HDFC version
- Fee: ₹1,499, waived on ₹3,00,000 annual spend
- Rate: Up to 5% NeuCoins on Tata brands including Croma, 1.5% elsewhere
- Extras: 4 international lounge visits a year via Priority Pass; domestic visits after ₹50,000 quarterly spend
SBI version
- Fee: ₹1,499, waived on ₹3,00,000 annual spend
- Rate: 5% NeuCoins on Tata Neu and partner Tata brands, 1.5% elsewhere
- Extras: 1,499 NeuCoins welcome bonus; 4 international lounge visits a year via Priority Pass
NeuCoins are worth ₹1 each inside Tata Neu, so ₹80,000 at Croma via Tata Neu earns up to ₹4,000. If you also shop on BigBasket, Tata CLiQ or Tata 1mg, the card earns well beyond the phone. Apply for Tata Neu Infinity, read our Tata Neu Infinity review, or see HDFC vs SBI Tata Neu Infinity.

4. SBI Cashback: flexible, but capped
- Fee: ₹999, waived on ₹2,00,000 annual spend
- Rate: 5% on online spends, 1% offline
- Cap: ₹2,000 a month on online cashback
SBI Cashback works on almost any online store, including Apple's own online store, which the co-brand cards don't reward at their top rate. But the ₹2,000 monthly cap means you'll get ₹2,000 on an ₹80,000 phone, not ₹4,000. It's the right card when you're buying from a store none of the co-brands cover. Apply for SBI Cashback.
5. HDFC Millennia: only for smaller purchases
- Fee: ₹1,000, waived on ₹1,00,000 annual spend
- Rate: 5% on select online merchants, capped at ₹1,000 a month
Millennia is a good everyday online card, but its ₹1,000 monthly cap makes it a weak pick for a phone. Use it for accessories or a cheaper model. View the card.

EMI, bank offers and other things to check
EMI and rewards. Converting a purchase to EMI often cancels the reward. Many cards exclude EMI transactions from earning, and some no-cost EMI schemes absorb the interest by removing the instant discount. Read our EMI conversion guide and the hidden traps in no-cost EMI before you choose it at checkout.
Instant bank discounts. At launch and during sales, Amazon, Flipkart, Croma and Apple's store usually run instant discounts for specific bank cards. These can be larger than the reward. Check whether the offer stacks with your card's cashback.
Credit limit. An iPhone can use most of a new card's limit. Using 80% to 90% of your limit can dent your CIBIL score temporarily, even if you pay in full. If your limit is tight, see how to increase your credit limit.
Purchase protection. Some cards cover theft or accidental damage for a period after purchase. Our purchase protection explainer covers how these work.
How to choose
- Decide where you'll buy based on price and the bank offer available.
- Use the co-brand card for that store: Amazon Pay ICICI, Flipkart Axis or Tata Neu Infinity.
- Buying elsewhere? Use SBI Cashback, knowing you'll hit the ₹2,000 cap.
- Pay in full. Interest on an unpaid ₹80,000 balance wipes out any cashback.

Frequently asked questions
Which credit card is best for buying an iPhone?
Match the card to the store. ICICI Amazon Pay gives 5% on Amazon with Prime, Flipkart Axis gives an uncapped 5% on Flipkart, and Tata Neu Infinity gives up to 5% NeuCoins on Croma via Tata Neu. On an ₹80,000 phone, each returns about ₹4,000.
Do I get cashback if I convert my iPhone purchase to EMI?
Often not. Many cards exclude EMI transactions from rewards, and no-cost EMI offers may replace the instant discount. Check your card's terms before choosing EMI at checkout.
Is SBI Cashback good for buying an iPhone?
It earns 5% on online purchases, but cashback is capped at ₹2,000 a month. On a single expensive phone, that cap limits you to ₹2,000, less than the uncapped options.
Should I use a bank offer or card rewards for an iPhone?
Compare both. Launch and sale offers often give an instant discount on specific bank cards, which can be worth more than reward points. Some offers stack with card rewards, others don't.
