Best Credit Cards for Laptop Purchase in India 2026
5 October 2026 · BestCard Editorial Team

The best credit card for a laptop depends on where you buy it. For Amazon, the lifetime-free Amazon Pay ICICI card pays 5% with Prime and has no monthly cap listed. For Flipkart, the Flipkart Axis Bank card pays an uncapped 5%. If you buy from a brand store or another site, the Axis Bank Cashback card's 5% online rate with a ₹4,000 monthly cap covers an ₹80,000 laptop in full.
The trap with laptops is the price. A single ₹60,000 to ₹1,50,000 purchase blows through the monthly caps that most cashback cards use, so the headline rate on the card matters less than the cap.
Why caps decide everything
A laptop is one big transaction. Here's what 5% looks like on an ₹80,000 laptop across caps:
- No cap: ₹4,000
- ₹4,000 monthly cap: ₹4,000
- ₹2,000 monthly cap: ₹2,000
- ₹1,000 monthly cap: ₹1,000
That's why some cards that are excellent for daily spend (HDFC Millennia with its ₹1,000 online cap, for instance) are weak for laptops. Our explainer on reward caps shows the maths in more detail.
The shortlist
1. Amazon Pay ICICI: best for Amazon
- Fees: ₹0 joining, ₹0 annual
- Rate: 5% on Amazon.in with Prime (3% without), 2% on 100+ Amazon Pay partners, 1% elsewhere
- Cap: none listed in BestCard's data
- Rewards credited as Amazon Pay balance
- Minimum income: ₹30,000 a month
On an ₹80,000 laptop bought on Amazon with Prime, you'd get ₹4,000 back. Without Prime, 3% gives ₹2,400. Because it's lifetime free, you lose nothing by keeping it just for big Amazon purchases. More in our Amazon Pay ICICI review. Card page: Amazon Pay ICICI.
2. Flipkart Axis Bank: best for Flipkart
- Fees: ₹0 joining, ₹500 annual, waived at ₹3.5 lakh annual spend
- Rate: 5% on Flipkart and Myntra, 4% on preferred partners, 1.5% elsewhere
- Cap: unlimited, per BestCard's data
- Minimum income: ₹15,000 a month
An ₹80,000 laptop on Flipkart earns ₹4,000. The 1.5% base rate also makes it decent for everyday spend. Apply for the Flipkart Axis Bank card or see the card page.
3. Axis Bank Cashback: best for any online store
- Fees: ₹1,000 joining and annual, waived at ₹4 lakh annual spend
- Rate: 5% on online spends, 1% on everything else
- Cap: ₹4,000 a month on the 5% category
- Minimum income: ₹25,000 a month
This is the best pick if you're buying from Apple's, Dell's, Lenovo's or HP's online store, or any site that isn't Amazon or Flipkart. The ₹4,000 cap means 5% applies in full up to an ₹80,000 laptop. Card page: Axis Bank Cashback.
4. SBI Cashback: good if the laptop is under ₹40,000
- Fees: ₹999 joining and annual, waived at ₹2 lakh annual spend
- Rate: 5% on all online merchants, 1% offline
- Cap: ₹2,000 a month
- Minimum income: ₹25,000 a month
At 5%, the ₹2,000 cap is reached at ₹40,000. For a budget laptop or a student machine, that's full value. On an ₹80,000 laptop, you'd get ₹2,000, an effective 2.5%. Apply for SBI Cashback or see the card page.

5. Tata Neu Infinity HDFC: best for Croma
- Fees: ₹1,499 joining and annual, waived at ₹3 lakh annual spend
- Rate: up to 5% as NeuCoins on Tata brands including Croma, 1.5% elsewhere
- NeuCoins redeem 1:1 inside the Tata Neu app
- Minimum income: ₹1,00,000 a month
If you prefer to see the laptop in a store, Croma plus this card gives up to 5% back, so up to ₹4,000 on an ₹80,000 laptop, paid as NeuCoins. It also includes lounge access, which helps justify the fee. Apply for Tata Neu Infinity or see the card page. Our Croma card guide covers other options.
6. Samsung Axis Bank Signature: only for Samsung laptops
- Fees: ₹500 joining and annual, waived at ₹2 lakh
- Rate: 10% on Samsung purchases
- Cap: ₹2,500 a month and ₹10,000 a year
The 10% rate looks great, but the cap limits a single laptop to ₹2,500 back. It's more useful if you're buying several Samsung devices spread across months. Card page: Samsung Axis Bank Signature.

All figures are from BestCard's latest card data. Issuers change cashback terms often, so check the current terms on the bank's site before you buy.
EMI, sale offers and protection
No-cost EMI: very common on laptops, but cashback is frequently excluded on EMI transactions or EMI conversions. Swiggy HDFC, for example, excludes EMI from all rewards. Before choosing EMI, check whether your card still pays cashback. Read no-cost EMI traps for the hidden costs, including processing fees and GST on interest.
Sale instant discounts: during big sales, platforms often run bank-specific instant discounts. These can stack with the card's own cashback, but not always. Read the offer terms.
Purchase protection: some premium cards cover theft or damage for a period after purchase. Our purchase protection explainer covers how it works.
How to choose
- Decide where you'll buy first. Amazon, Flipkart, Croma, or a brand store each point to a different card.
- Check the cap against the price. A 5% card with a ₹2,000 cap is really a 2.5% card on an ₹80,000 laptop.
- Avoid EMI if cashback matters, or confirm the card pays on EMI transactions.
- Think beyond the laptop. A card you'll use daily afterwards (Flipkart Axis's 1.5% base, Axis Cashback's 5% online) is better value than one you'll never use again.

Frequently asked questions
Which credit card gives the most cashback on a laptop?
For a laptop bought on Amazon, Amazon Pay ICICI gives 5% with Prime and no monthly cap listed, so ₹4,000 back on an ₹80,000 laptop. On Flipkart, the Flipkart Axis Bank card gives an uncapped 5%. Capped cards like SBI Cashback stop at ₹2,000 a month.
Do I get cashback if I buy a laptop on no-cost EMI?
Often not. Many issuers exclude EMI transactions or EMI-converted purchases from cashback, and the Swiggy HDFC card, for example, excludes EMI entirely. Check the card's terms before choosing EMI if cashback is part of your plan.
Is a 10% Samsung card good for a laptop?
The Samsung Axis Bank Signature card pays 10% on Samsung purchases, but it is capped at ₹2,500 a month and ₹10,000 a year. On an ₹80,000 Samsung laptop you'd get ₹2,500, not ₹8,000.
Should I wait for a sale to buy a laptop with a credit card?
Sales usually add bank instant discounts on top of card cashback, so the combined saving can be higher. Check whether the instant discount and the card's own cashback both apply, as some offers exclude each other.
