Jupiter Edge Visa Credit Card Review 2026: Worth ₹999?
25 September 2026 · BestCard Editorial Team

The Jupiter Edge Visa is a simple, app-first rewards card. It earns about 2% in real value on one spending category you choose, has a fairly low 2% forex markup, and its ₹999 fee is easy to waive. It's a reasonable pick if you want a Visa card you can use abroad and control from an app. If you just want the best return on everyday spending, though, several cards beat it.
Who the Jupiter Edge Visa is for
Federal Bank issues the card, and you manage it in the Jupiter app. It suits you if:
- you spend steadily in one category (online shopping, travel or dining) and are happy to put that spending on this card,
- you want a Visa card for wider international acceptance than a RuPay card gives you,
- you like tracking spending and rewards in one app.
It's not for people who want lounge access, premium travel perks or UPI payments on a credit card.
Fees and fee waiver
| Item | Jupiter Edge Visa |
|---|---|
| Joining fee | Nil |
| Annual fee | ₹999 |
| Fee waived at | ₹1.2 lakh spend in the previous year |
| Forex markup | 2% |
| Minimum monthly income | ₹30,000 |
| Network | Visa |
| Lounge access | None |
| Fuel | 1% surcharge waiver on fuel spends up to ₹4,000 per billing cycle |
The ₹1.2 lakh waiver works out to ₹10,000 a month. That's achievable if this is one of your main cards. Pay the ₹999 fee and you lose most of what the card earns in a year at moderate spending.
How the rewards work
The card pays in Jupiter Jewels:
- 10% in Jewels on one category you choose: travel, dining or shopping. You can switch the category in the app.
- 2% in Jewels on international spends.
- A low base rate on other spends. BestCard's data puts it at about 0.4% in value.
The headline numbers look bigger than they are, because Jewels aren't worth a rupee each:
- 100 Jewels = ₹20 when you redeem for flights, vouchers or gold
- 100 Jewels = ₹14 as cash or a bill credit
So the 10% category earns about 2% at the best redemption value, or 1.4% as cash. The 2% international rate works out to roughly 0.4%. Our explainer on rewards vs cashback covers why this kind of conversion matters when you compare cards.
BestCard's data doesn't list a monthly cap on bonus Jewels, but caps and exclusions change, so check Jupiter's current terms.
Worked example: ₹25,000 a month
Say you spend ₹25,000 a month on the card, with ₹10,000 in your chosen category (shopping) and ₹15,000 elsewhere.
At voucher/flight value (₹20 per 100 Jewels):
- Chosen category: ₹10,000 × 10% = 1,000 Jewels = ₹200
- Other spends: ₹15,000 × 0.4% value = ₹60
- ₹260 a month, or ₹3,120 a year
If you take cash (₹14 per 100 Jewels):
- 1,000 Jewels = ₹140
- Other spends: about 300 Jewels = ₹42
- ₹182 a month, or ₹2,184 a year
You'd spend ₹3 lakh a year, well above the ₹1.2 lakh waiver, so you pay no fee. At only ₹8,000 a month you'd fall short of ₹1.2 lakh and pay ₹999 plus GST. That would cancel most of your rewards.

Travel and international use
There's no lounge access, no travel insurance in BestCard's data, and no premium travel perks. The useful bit is the 2% forex markup, a good deal lower than the 3.5% many entry cards charge. On a ₹1 lakh foreign trip, that's ₹2,000 in markup instead of ₹3,500. See our guide to foreign transaction markup fees for how it adds up.
If you mainly want the card for travel abroad, a zero-forex card does the job better (see the alternatives below).
Pros and cons
Pros
- No joining fee, and the ₹999 annual fee is waived at a modest ₹1.2 lakh
- About 2% value on a category you choose and can switch
- 2% forex markup and wide Visa acceptance
- Clean app for tracking spending and rewards
Cons
- Not lifetime free
- "10% Jewels" is really about 2%, or 1.4% as cash
- Weak base rate outside your chosen category
- No lounge access, no UPI-on-credit, few premium perks
Eligibility
BestCard's data lists a minimum monthly income of ₹30,000. As with most cards, a decent credit score and clean repayment history help. You apply and manage everything through the Jupiter app.
How it compares with alternatives
| Card | Fee | Main earning rate | Forex | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Jupiter Edge Visa | ₹999 (waived at ₹1.2 lakh) | ~2% on one category | 2% | App-first users who want Visa |
| Jupiter Edge CSB RuPay | Lifetime free | ~2% on one category | n/a | Same rewards, plus UPI |
| SBI Cashback | ₹999 (waived at ₹2 lakh) | 5% online (cap ₹2,000/month) | 3.5% | Heavy online shoppers |
| Axis ACE | ₹499 (waived at ₹2 lakh) | 2% flat, 4–5% bonuses | 3.5% | Offline and bill payments |
| Amazon Pay ICICI | Lifetime free | 5% Amazon with Prime | 1.99% | Amazon shoppers |
Jupiter Edge CSB RuPay has the same reward structure with no fee at all, and it works on UPI. Unless you specifically need Visa for travel abroad, it's the better Jupiter card.
SBI Cashback pays 5% on online spends against Jupiter's roughly 2%. On ₹10,000 of online shopping that's ₹500 a month against ₹200. Our SBI Cashback deep dive has the details.
Axis ACE pays 2% on everything, so it matches Jupiter's best category across all your spending. On ₹25,000 a month ACE earns at least ₹500, roughly double Jupiter's ₹260 in our example.
Verdict
The Jupiter Edge Visa is a decent card, but not a standout. Its real draws are the low 2% forex markup on a Visa card and an app that's pleasant to use. On rewards it trails simpler cashback cards. Most people get more from Axis ACE or SBI Cashback, and app-first users who don't need Visa should take the free RuPay version instead.
Figures here come from BestCard's latest card data, and Jupiter and Federal Bank can change rewards and fees at any time, so check the current terms before you apply. To see how it stacks up against your own spending, compare it on our comparison tool or let the card matcher suggest options.
